‘A Decade Into a Fight For Justice for Mikey’

The family of Mikey Powell invites our friends and supporters to the final 10th annual remembrance event. “We Remember”

4WardEver UK in association with the Mikey Powell Campaign, Migrant Media and the UFFC welcomes you to an afternoon of remembrance, reflection and action.

All proceeds will be donated to the Friends of Mikey Powell Campaign for Justice.

What’s happening @ ‘Mikey, 10 Years On’

There will be a combination of family presentations and speeches, guest speakers, a short 20min film on the case of Jason McPherson, singers and artistes and an update on Mikey’s case.

There will be a candlelit vigil taking place beforehand (from 12noon to 1.30pm) at West Midlands Police Headquarters, Lloyd House, Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham B4 6NQ

The Friends of Mikey Powell Campaign for Justice was established by the family of Michael Lloyd Powell (known as Mikey), a cousin of the renowned poet and writer, Benjamin Zephaniah, following his death in Police custody. Mikey was 38 years old and a father of three young children.

He had suffered several short episodes of mental illness from which he had recovered. An episodes occurred on 7th September 2003. Join Mikey’s group on the UFFC Network >
